Cameo Jewelry Art

Today I was searching for a shop to feature in my blog so I went to Artfire and starting browsing.  As soon as the page came up this shop just seemed to jump out at me.  I clicked on the picture and when the shop opened up, the first thing I thought was "  Wow"  .  I couldn't move for a minute because the work this shop does is remarkable.  Ok, now do I have your attention? hehehehe.  This shop goes by the name of Cameo Jewelry Art.  I can tell you all day long on how beautiful this shops masterpieces (and yes, I said Masterpieces) but without showing you pictures, you will never believe me.  So here are some of my favorites, and believe me there are more than just a few that I truly love.

This piece is the one that caught my eye.  The description that they have on this piece is
Fine Horse Cameo Ring Agate Sterling Silver Jewelry"
In reading the information on this beautiful piece, it is carved out of Black Agate.
Here is a side view of the same ring.  The band is just as exquisite as the cameo.

Then I just barely got to the second page of their shop and this gorgeous piece grabbed me (it was really hard leaving the first page but I had to see more).  They have this piece listed as "  Butterfly Cameo Pendant".  Now, need I say more?  Actually I can "  AAHH"

Ok, one more.  Here is this beautiful Swarovski Pink Rose Cameo Pendant and Earrings.

I don't think I have to say anything else except that if you don't visit this shop, you will miss so much more that I just can't explain them all.

Featured Artisan Heart n Sow

I would like to share a featured artisan, Heart N Sow.  She makes a variety of sewn items.  She makes aprons, dresses, purses, and hair accessories.

Here is a really cute purse.  She made this one out of leopard fleece with khaki fringe along the top.

The second item I would like to share are a mother/daughter apron set.  This is really cute.  If I had a daughter, I would love to have a set like this.

Finally, here is an adorable flower hair accessory.  I love the color (well, purple is my favorite color).  She did such a good job on this one and you can really see the detail she put into this.

So go on over to her Zibbet shop and look around.  You might just find something you just can't live without.

My Projects and Custom Orders

After two years, my home business is starting to pick up.  It's not enough to actually call it a " business"  but it's enough to keep me busy.  Because of my disability, I am unable to work.  When I make a quilt for someone, I can only sew for maybe 15 to 30 minutes at a time then I have to  sit in a recliner to relieve the pain in my hip (I have hip dysplasia which is a birth defect) and the pain in my neck which is caused by nerve damage I sustained in a car accident.

Right now I am working on an order for a Celtic quilt.  I've always wanted to make one but never have had the opportunity.   This one is going to be a king quilt.  I will have the top done is about 2 to 3 weeks but the quilting will take the longest.  I don't have a longarm (can't afford one) so I quilt my quilts on my regular sewing machine.

The quilt the I just finished was a king size Broncos quilt.  I took the logo of the Denver Broncos and I modified it.  I sketched out the horse as best as I could being the I can't draw all that well.  I " stained glassed"  the design in the middle of the quilt and the border.  My customer was really pleased with it.

I also made a horse quilt for a friend of mine.  She wanted one for her daughter that was in her first year of college.  This one was a lot of fun to make.  My favorite book to use for block design is " 501 Quilt Blocks" .  I can find anything that I need to make a quilt.

I have made several other quilts but for now, I'll only share these two.  I will add more as I have time.  So now I have the Celtic quilt to work on then I have two more to work on.  Like I said before, I have to stay busy to help keep my mind off the pain that I am in all day, every day.  Well, now it's time that I got and work on this new venture.  Hope it turns out as well as the others have.  Oh yeah, did I tell you that I have only been sewing for a little over 2 years?
